Our Guru
Aparna Matange
Nrityasurabhi School of Dance
Guru Aparna Matange has spent over four decades immersed in Bharatanatyam as a performer, choreographer, and teacher. She trained under the celebrated Dr. Sucheta Chapekar, becoming one of her senior-most disciples, and today leads her own school, Nrityasurabhi School of Dance.
Her career has taken her across prestigious stages in both India and the United States, and her lecture-demonstrations have introduced audiences at universities throughout Europe and the U.S. to the depth of Indian classical dance.
Her contributions have been widely recognized: a dance scholarship from the Government of India, the title of “Singaar Mani,” and the Outstanding Leadership Award from Miss Bharat, Florida in 2024.
Beyond the studio, she is deeply active in South Florida’s Indian community as President of the Maharashtra Mandal of South Florida, and many of her students have gone on to complete their own Arangetrams.
